Real Freedom

Do you really know what real freedom feels like? Yes, I guess to some degree, we have all experienced freedom in the general sense of the word – freedom from exams; freedom from work; freedom from parental restraint; freedom from abuse; freedom from oppression of a dictator and so forth. And what do you get out of it? A sense of relief? Immediate satisfaction? Yes and yes. Now, here’s the one-million-dollar question: Does it last long? This kind of freedom is transient in nature and that being so you’d only savour it for a few minutes and before you know it, you’re back to square one, experiencing the very feeling that entrapped you in the first place. For example, you go on a getaway holiday to elude work for a few days. Yes, the absence of work and 24-7 fun is a dream that is being fulfilled but when you return to work the next day and when you see the mountainous pile of work sitting comfortably on your desk, awaiting you to attend to it, you’ll only be reminded that that “freedom” is short-lived.

Then how do you break away from this false sense of freedom? How do you outsmart it? In a way, we are the victim here – a victim that has been toyed with by our very own delusional mind. Ask yourself: What is the very factor that is causing you to lead a life that is completely contrary to your dream. Once you unearth the source, you can analyse further and continue till you reach the end result – the current you. As a wise being said, everything is interdependent and thus nothing exists independently. Our minds have been moulded to believe that the external environment is the real reason behind our unhappiness and joy. Thus we continue to brood and whine and do nothing to change. That is where you’re mistaken and it is not too late to change. Yes, of course we all like to lead a fairly comfortable, luxurious life, problem-free. However, that can never always be the case. Some have it lucky; others are not as lucky. The important thing to learn and take away with you today is that you hold the power to transform your life. Yes, YOU! If you think that whinging and lamenting will get you somewhere, then, by all means, do it. And, I assure you that you will spend your entire life hating everything and everyone around you and you will become a cranky old grouch like Oscar the Grouch in Sesame Street. On the flipside of it, if you change yourself and your perception of things, you will be able to see that life itself is not always a pain in the arse, amidst the chaos and violence in the world. Sometimes we need the negative in order to appreciate the positive and something good will always inevitably come out of something bad. That is the natural order of the world. You will gain freedom not only from work, school and so on, but from your old destructive self.

Remember this: nothing remains permanent and the fact that you know now, you can then experience REAL freedom. Until now, you have yet to taste the sweetness of true freedom.

So, whatcha waiting for?

How do you do?

Dear Friends,
As some of you may know (or not), I have an atrocious habit of creating new blogs and abandoning them later due to utter laziness and lack of motivation. But I can assure you that this time, it is going to be a different picture because I feel so inspired right now (and I hope it stays that way for a long time). I am going to make this my little project and I guess with that objective in mind, it will keep me going and motivated to maintain this blog. Otherwise, you have the right to tap me on the shoulder and say,"Excuse me, Signorina Q but er..YOU HAVEN'T KEPT YOUR PROMISE TO US!" Please, should I have ever abandon this for no reason, kindly remind me that I still have this baby to mind and nurture and this blog is only to serve as your benefit, really. And, comments and feedbacks would be much appreciated, sincerely. So, let's get the show on the road!

My Life Mission(s)

Here's my list..you think you can help me fulfil it? Or at least have faith in me, olright?
Well, here goes...the items are not in any particular order, except for the 1st one which is extremely covetous and urgent, I just type them out as they come to mind.
1. OZ PR application to be successful
2. Happy memories...only happy times...
3. Need to start latin classes again...who wants to be my partner?
4. Yoga...maybe even pilates...since I hate running and gym-ing...
5. Socialise more and stop being a stuck-up
6. Make tons of money without putting in so much effort..let money work for me is what I live by now...=))
7. Expand and extend my knowledge on general stuff and politics...I'm no longer a kid now (tho I wish I was, never had much of a childhood) so I gotta be more well-versed and knowledgeable about the happenings of the world...
8. Grow spiritually and be a stronger person...its stupid to let emotions get the better of me...
9. Eliminate the ego and pride and instead focus on divine pride. The ego is not real and is created by the mind. And its all because of the ego that I've lost someone dear to me. I hope someday we can be good friends again, like the old times, and forget the past that just went by=))
10. Oh yea..how can I forget? Lose at least 3 kilos! =PP
11. Be happy and positive and confident always. Be more patient and tolerant and compassionate.
12. Must train the mind by meditating.
That's it for now...this is not the end yet. Its only the beginning=)
