Great songs are only heartfelt when the singer's/composer's own personal experiences are translated into musical notes and befitting words to accompany with them; and the singer sings from the heart. You know how a particular song can mean something to a person at one point in time. And, when it is difficult to put your feelings into words, the lyrics, the tune - the whole package - can do that task easily for you in just a few minutes, without all the fuss of racking your brain to search for the right words that represent how you feel towards the other person. Well, this song has no special meaning to me but I feel that it strongly symbolises what love really is - that when you truly love someone, you accept that person for who she/he is, the good and the bad. Real love should be unconditional. Otherwise, what is love when it comes with conditions attached?

Halo - Haley James Scott (OST - One Tree Hill)
I never promised you a ray of light
I never promised there’d be sunshine everyday
I'll give you everything I have
The good the bad...
Why do you put me on a pedestal?
I’m so up high that I can’t see the ground below
So help me down, you've got it wrong I don’t belong there
[Chorus]
One thing is clear I wear a halo
I wear a halo when you look at me
But standing from here
You wouldn’t say so
You wouldn’t say so if you were me
And I.. I just wanna love you
Oh, oh I.. I just wanna love you
I always said that I would make mistakes
I’m only human and that’s my saving grace
I fall as hard as I try
So don’t be blinded
See me as I really am
I have flaws and sometimes I even sin
So pull me from that pedestal,
I don’t belong there
One thing is clear
I wear a halo
I wear a halo
when you look at me
but standing from here
you wouldn’t say so...
P/S: I know I am only posting these song lyrics because, other than the song having a nice tune, I have been glued to the idiot box, incessantly watching One Tree Hill in the last 2 weeks or so. Some life I have...just for now...Well, on a bright note, I am off to Melbourne this Saturday! Can't wait...!!!

External Beauty vs Inner Beauty
“Whoa, check out those sexy legs!”
“Oh my gawd, what an eye candy!”
It seems that the power of attraction lies in the external. Our eyes are easily enticed by the bodily and facial features of the subject. Why is that? Do you think we are innately drawn to people because of the way they look or has the media got a role in this matter? To some extent, the media may have influenced us to revere only those with good looks while casting away the ugly ones. On the other hand, I do believe that we enjoy idolising handsome people rather than those who are disfigured or wrinkly. Ask yourself this question: would you prefer looking at a blooming spring flower or the earthy ground on which it burgeons? Be honest now. Of course, the former, if you ask me.
Here’s my next question: so you think Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie (don’t ask me why I picked them but they seem to be the hottest couple in town right now) is hot at this point in time but are they gonna be remain just as good-looking in the next decade or so? Obviously not because age catches up with them. And, that applies to the rest of us. Once you’ve established that external beauty fades, like all things do, you’d find that the inner qualities that the person possesses radiate the person’s real beauty. Ideally, we would like to be admired for our personality, and not for our exterior. However, in this judgmental world, people tend to display discrimination because of our upbringing; or culture; or the media; or simply our inherent preference for perfect-looking people. For instance, the protagonist who starred in the Korean movie, “200-Pounds Beauty”, gained fame soon after the release of the movie and had probably been chosen because of her striking appearance. But did you know that she went to extreme lengths and great pains to transform her countenance and body? Yes, major plastic surgery! Should she had taken the risk to show up on the audition day looking the way she did before, I think she would have been the laughing stock of the year. It is really unfortunate that even when applying for jobs, you may have been given a chance on the grounds that you possess a pleasant-looking visage, and not based on your personality or skills. But nevertheless, that is not always the case.
For now, I would like to believe that we are not entirely superficial and even if we are, it is only momentarily because once you know the other person’s true colours, you will then be able to decide, with a rational mind, whether or not, he or she is beautiful.

World Peace = Inner Peace
"In order to create world peace, we ourselves must cultivate inner peace".
How true is that?

A Rare Revelation
"Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength."
I never did understand this quote until now. With all the wars and demonstrations going on in the world, one would initially think that patience and love could never put an end to human suffering. "If you don't retaliate, you are letting the other person win.". Ponder on it. So yes, you think fighting back in the name of human rights/religion/pride/ego, whatever the asset is, will restore it back to its original position or improve the dilapidating situation, you had better contemplate again before you make the next move. Do you really think violence is the solution? If you had asked me before, I would have said, "Yes, we must fight for our rights! Don't waste a single second!" However, after stumbling upon this quote from His Holiness The Dalai Lama and analysing it, I've come to the conclusion that violence is not the answer. Take The Dalai Lama for example. His Holiness has been in exile for more than 4 decades and yet His patience has not run dry. Yes, it may take a longer time to resolve things and come to an agreement with the Chinese government by using this method but it is still a peaceful means, without hurting anyone. If violence had been used, more innocent lives, both of Tibetan and Chinese descent would have been claimed. His Holiness is always making decisions that are in the interest of not only His people but also others. His altruistic efforts are admirable and we can learn so much from such a being.
I am sure that one day the Chinese government will return Tibet to its people and even become good friends with The Dalai Lama, after realising that 40 years of debating and tossing over where Tibet rightfully belongs have been a total waste of time and energy.
The grey skies of despair may be hovering above but if we keep praying and remain positive, the sun will eventually rise and its hopeful rays will melt away the darkness of hopelessness.

Real Freedom
Do you really know what real freedom feels like? Yes, I guess to some degree, we have all experienced freedom in the general sense of the word – freedom from exams; freedom from work; freedom from parental restraint; freedom from abuse; freedom from oppression of a dictator and so forth. And what do you get out of it? A sense of relief? Immediate satisfaction? Yes and yes. Now, here’s the one-million-dollar question: Does it last long? This kind of freedom is transient in nature and that being so you’d only savour it for a few minutes and before you know it, you’re back to square one, experiencing the very feeling that entrapped you in the first place. For example, you go on a getaway holiday to elude work for a few days. Yes, the absence of work and 24-7 fun is a dream that is being fulfilled but when you return to work the next day and when you see the mountainous pile of work sitting comfortably on your desk, awaiting you to attend to it, you’ll only be reminded that that “freedom” is short-lived.
Then how do you break away from this false sense of freedom? How do you outsmart it? In a way, we are the victim here – a victim that has been toyed with by our very own delusional mind. Ask yourself: What is the very factor that is causing you to lead a life that is completely contrary to your dream. Once you unearth the source, you can analyse further and continue till you reach the end result – the current you. As a wise being said, everything is interdependent and thus nothing exists independently. Our minds have been moulded to believe that the external environment is the real reason behind our unhappiness and joy. Thus we continue to brood and whine and do nothing to change. That is where you’re mistaken and it is not too late to change. Yes, of course we all like to lead a fairly comfortable, luxurious life, problem-free. However, that can never always be the case. Some have it lucky; others are not as lucky. The important thing to learn and take away with you today is that you hold the power to transform your life. Yes, YOU! If you think that whinging and lamenting will get you somewhere, then, by all means, do it. And, I assure you that you will spend your entire life hating everything and everyone around you and you will become a cranky old grouch like Oscar the Grouch in Sesame Street. On the flipside of it, if you change yourself and your perception of things, you will be able to see that life itself is not always a pain in the arse, amidst the chaos and violence in the world. Sometimes we need the negative in order to appreciate the positive and something good will always inevitably come out of something bad. That is the natural order of the world. You will gain freedom not only from work, school and so on, but from your old destructive self.
Remember this: nothing remains permanent and the fact that you know now, you can then experience REAL freedom. Until now, you have yet to taste the sweetness of true freedom.
So, whatcha waiting for?

How do you do?
Dear Friends,
As some of you may know (or not), I have an atrocious habit of creating new blogs and abandoning them later due to utter laziness and lack of motivation. But I can assure you that this time, it is going to be a different picture because I feel so inspired right now (and I hope it stays that way for a long time). I am going to make this my little project and I guess with that objective in mind, it will keep me going and motivated to maintain this blog. Otherwise, you have the right to tap me on the shoulder and say,"Excuse me, Signorina Q but er..YOU HAVEN'T KEPT YOUR PROMISE TO US!" Please, should I have ever abandon this for no reason, kindly remind me that I still have this baby to mind and nurture and this blog is only to serve as your benefit, really. And, comments and feedbacks would be much appreciated, sincerely. So, let's get the show on the road!

My Life Mission(s)
Here's my list..you think you can help me fulfil it? Or at least have faith in me, olright?
Well, here goes...the items are not in any particular order, except for the 1st one which is extremely covetous and urgent, I just type them out as they come to mind.
1. OZ PR application to be successful
2. Happy memories...only happy times...
3. Need to start latin classes again...who wants to be my partner?
4. Yoga...maybe even pilates...since I hate running and gym-ing...
5. Socialise more and stop being a stuck-up
6. Make tons of money without putting in so much effort..let money work for me is what I live by now...=))
7. Expand and extend my knowledge on general stuff and politics...I'm no longer a kid now (tho I wish I was, never had much of a childhood) so I gotta be more well-versed and knowledgeable about the happenings of the world...
8. Grow spiritually and be a stronger person...its stupid to let emotions get the better of me...
9. Eliminate the ego and pride and instead focus on divine pride. The ego is not real and is created by the mind. And its all because of the ego that I've lost someone dear to me. I hope someday we can be good friends again, like the old times, and forget the past that just went by=))
10. Oh yea..how can I forget? Lose at least 3 kilos! =PP
11. Be happy and positive and confident always. Be more patient and tolerant and compassionate.
12. Must train the mind by meditating.
That's it for now...this is not the end yet. Its only the beginning=)
